2.5-3.5% per year by 2025. To reach this ambitious target, the food and drink industry needs an enabling policy framework, the CAP being one of the key policies impacting the growth of the industry.

\r\n

This is why FoodDrinkEurope is in favour of:

\r\n

- a truly common agricultural policy, which underpins a strong and well-functioning Single Market;

\r\n

- a market-oriented CAP, as the most efficient approach to improve the competitiveness of EU farmers and to deliver agricultural raw materials that are in line with the quality and quantity needs of the consumers;

\r\n

- a more environmentally sustainable and more resilient agriculture with respect to different types of risks (e.g. climate, animal and plant health, and market risks).

\r\n

Moreover, investment in research and innovation, knowledge transfer and collaboration among all stakeholders in the food supply chain (including the industry) should form the cornerstone to achieve these objectives. The CAP has to provide the enabling framework, financial support and incentives.
